Reference documentation
Read the technical docs for this feature →Glassy is single-player at its core, but your knowledge becomes more interesting when you can follow people whose notes you respect. Following (beta.31+) adds that social layer without turning your library into a feed you have to babysit.
Following someone
Open a public window on the instance where you are signed in and use Follow. Glassy records a relationship to that local identity, rather than subscribing to alternate URLs for the same person. Manage people in Following → People; external RSS subscriptions belong in Publications.
Counts, notifications, and discovery
Public windows show follower counts, and following a person sends that account a notification. The opt-in discovery strip helps find local Glassy identities. Following a Glassy person does not consume the external RSS publication quota.
Your public window
Use your profile settings to configure your window and choose what to publish. See the Public Window guide for publishing controls and plan requirements.
Following does not grant access to private content. On private instances, anonymous requests for follower counts are rejected before resolving the slug. Keep private notes private; publishing and following are separate decisions.
