Is Glassy Learn free?
Yes — every lesson on Glassy Learn is completely free to read and watch. The content is licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
Do I need a Glassy account to follow lessons?
No. You can read any lesson without signing in. A Glassy account unlocks progress tracking so you can see which lessons you've completed.
How long are the lessons?
Most lessons are between two and eight minutes long. Each pairs a short video with a written summary so you can skip the video if you prefer reading.
Which browser / OS does Glassy support?
Glassy is a web app — it runs in Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox on any modern desktop OS. Local AI features use WebGPU and work best with a recent GPU. The Glassy Companion browser extension is available separately for quick capture.
What is the "window.glassy" API?
When you open a Glassy Learn lesson inside the Glassy app, the workspace injects a window.glassy global that lets the lesson page navigate you directly to relevant features — no copy-pasting paths needed.
How do I request a new lesson?
Open an issue on the glassy-learn GitHub repo or email [email protected]. We prioritize requests by upvotes.
Can I use lesson content in my own materials?
Yes, under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 — credit "Glassy Learn (learn.glassy.fyi)" and link back to the original lesson. Non-commercial use only.
What is the "local AI" track about?
It covers how Glassy runs AI models directly in your browser using WebGPU — no cloud required. You'll learn how on-device summarization, tagging, semantic search, and Q&A work, and how to switch between local and cloud models depending on the task.
What is Glassy Clear?
Clear is a membership, not just a plan — a private community that lives inside Glassy. Members share with members in a feed inside the app, get new tools and AI features first, help shape the roadmap, and get the unrestricted single-user Docker build today.
